2025 Stewardship Update and 2026 Campaign Theme

“RISE UP AND BUILD: Building Up the Body of Christ”

As of this writing, we have received stewardship commitments from 428 of our faithful members for calendar year 2025.  We thank God, and all of you, for the blessing of exceeding our budgeted goal of $462,193!  If you have not yet made your 2025 commitment, or have not yet fulfilled your pledge, we encourage you to do so before December 31st.

The theme for our 2026 Stewardship Campaign is from the Old Testament Book of Nehemiah. This story and the words of Nehemiah (2:19) call us today, not just to building and rebuilding with bricks and mortar, but also to a deeper, spiritual building – the rebuilding and renewal of our faith. As Orthodox Christians, we are called to respond to God's gifts with faithful stewardship. Like Nehemiah, we are called to "rise up and build," carrying on God’s work in our parish, our community, and in the world. In the coming months, we will be working on ways to accomplish this, and hope you will join us.

You should be receiving our stewardship mailing within the next few weeks.  We, again, ask you to prayerfully complete your commitment card, noting how you can help our Annunciation community through not only your treasures, but your time and talents.  Please designate the areas of interest to you.  Our goal, as a committee, is to make sure we have someone reach out to you so you can connect with the members that can help you fulfil the time and talents portions of your commitments. 

Our preliminary stewardship goal for 2026 is $575,000.  This is only 70% of our total preliminary operating budget.  We know our Annunciation community is capable of far exceeding this goal, and we hope 2026 will be the year that our members help us “Rise Up and Build”.  Take a moment to think of all the things you would like our community to be able to accomplish; from more fun, educational Orthodox gatherings for our youth and adults, to reaching out to help our fellow man here at home and in surrounding communities.  With the hiring of our Ephemerios, Fr. Nicolaos, there is so much more we can do in 2026!  Will you help us by exceeding this goal?  Take the “Round Up” challenge, and increase your pledge to the next percentage point of your total income.  It will bring joy to your heart!

There are some 600 families in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County area and surrounding communities that consider Annunciation their home church.  We pray that all of you will join us in “Building Up the Body of Christ” here at Annunciation in 2026.  We have a goal of receiving commitments from 75% of our families by February 11th.
