Mr. Angelo Andrew Cortessis   February 10, 1925  - August 30, 2023 Winston-Salem- Mr. Angelo Andrew Cortessis, 98, fell asleep in the Lord on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.  He was born February 10, 1925, in Mouzilou, Karpenisi, Greece, the son of Andrew and Helen Floros Cortessis.  Angelo moved to the United States in 1950 after serving in the Greek Civil War as a soldier.  He was married in 1954 to Evridiki Chiklistas and started his family.  The former co-owner of Cloverdale Kitchen and OK Lunch.  He served many people of Winston-Salem and the surrounding area.  He was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, where he served on the Board and was a member of the Velouchi Society.  Angelo was known for his gardening and lawn work and supplied "Horta" to everyone.  Devoted to his family, he was always giving and humble.  One of his favorite things to do was to share his stories about growing up in Greece and at family gatheri

We would like to inform you that we will officiate the last 3 Paraklesis (=Supplication Service to the Most Holy Theotokos), for the Great Feast of the Dormition and Assumption of the Panagia. Therefore, today, Thursday (August 10 th ), tomorrow Friday (August 11 th ), and this coming Sunday, (August 13 th ), we will have the Paraklesis Service at 6:00pm. Thank you for your consideration. 

Vasiliki "Bessie" Rogatsios March 23, 1938 - August 7th, 2023 It is with sadness, but with hope in the resurrection, that we inform you that our beloved sister in Christ,  Vasiliki "Bessie" Rogatsios  , has fallen asleep in the Lord. The family will accept visitors on Wednesday, August 9th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Bessie's home, 2942 Springhaven Dr. Winston Salem, NC 27103. A Trisagion and funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. George Kouzelis officiating.  Interment will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 435 Keating Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
