PARISH COUNCIL ELECTIONS 2024-2025

Early Voting is December 5-8 from 10am-2pm only in the church office. Election Day is Sunday, December 10th after the Divine Liturgy until 2pm in the Hellenic Center.   Absentee ballots ARE acceptable but MUST BE COMPLETED IN THE OFFICE, in person, ONLY from Tuesday December 5 to Friday December 8, ONLY between 10am-2pm NO proxies are allowed A parishioner must have paid their Stewardship in full last year (2022) and must have pledged for this year (2023) by December 8th BEFORE receiving a ballot. Other situations must be pre-approved by the Proistamenos according to the 2018 Bylaws. The Office will provide a list of eligible voters to the Board of Elections on Friday, 5pm, December 8th. Voting shall terminate by 2pm December 10th and the winners will be announced thereafter.   Listed below are the candidates:   Paul Anthony, Ben Bailess, Sammy J. Maria Karanikas Liontis - Funeral Service Monday, November 20, 2023

  Maria Karanikas Liontis, 93, peacefully embraced eternal rest on Friday evening, November 17, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.   Born on June 4, 1930, in Papadia Evrytania, Greece, Maria, the daughter of Nikolaos and Yianoula Karanika, embarked on a journey that led her to the United States, where she settled in Winston Salem with her family in 1971.   Dedicating numerous years to her craft, Maria served as a skilled seamstress at Norman Stockton, leaving a legacy of craftsmanship.   A devout member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and the esteemed Philoptochos Society, Maria's faith and philanthropy were central to her life. Preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and two sisters.   Maria is survived by her loving husband, Tryfon Liontis, her son Sam and wife Litsa Liontis of Winston Salem, and daughter Koula and husband Father Deacon George Politis of Charlotte.   Her enduring spirit lives on through six grandchildren: Maria and husband Yuyi, Nik and fia
