Elizabeth (Moutos) Vlasis January 10, 1936 ~ April 27, 2022 (age 86) It is with great sorrow, yet with the hope of the resurrection, that we inform you, that our beloved sister in Christ, Mrs. Elizabeth (Moutos) Vlasis, has  fallen   asleep  in the Lord. Mrs. Elizabeth Moutos Vlasis passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, after a courageous struggle with pancreatic cancer.  Born January 10, 1936, in Klapsi, Greece, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Athanasios Moutos of Winston-Salem.  She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Fred, her adoring husband, George, two dear brothers and sisters-in-law, Chris (Irene) Moutos and Tom (Virginia) Moutos, and many other special relatives. Elizabeth (known as Voula to most), immigrated to America when she was in the third grade.  Although she did not speak a word of English, she was placed in a classroom with American children of the same age, and she thrived!  After graduating

Our beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, always rejoice in the Lord! Regarding Holy Saturday Morning: As it is well-known, all the Holy Week Services are very special. On each day, we commemorate and celebrate a different and a very unique event from the earthly ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. On Holy and Great Saturday, we celebrate the Burial of the Divine Body of the Lord, and His descent, through His Divine Soul, into Hades. Jesus Christ voluntarily descended into Hades in order to destroy the power of the Devil, death, and Hades. He broke and destroyed the gates, along with the entire Kingdom of Hades, and He released the souls of all faithful who believed in Him as the only God and Savior. To commemorate this joyful occasion, and to demonstrate that sound of the destruction of Hades' Kingdom, I encourage you to bring a metal pot or pan, along with a metal spoon! We will use them during the Service. Please make an effort to attend the Holy Saturday morning Service by 9:1
