Falling Asleep of Tryfon Evangelos Liontis
Tryfon Evangelos Liontis, 92, peacefully embraced eternal rest on January 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 6, 1932 in Stenoma Evrytanias, Greece, Tryfon, the son of Evangelos and Vasiliki, embarked on a journey that led him to the United States, where he settled in Winston Salem. A skilled carpenter and restaurant owner, was a devout member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
Preceded in death by his wife Maria, his parents, and his brother Sotiris Liontis.
Tryfon is survived by his son Sam and wife Litsa Liontis of Winston Salem, and daughter Koula and husband Father Deacon George Politis of Charlotte. His enduring spirit lives on through six grandchildren:
Maria and husband Yuyi, Nik and wife Nicole, Marianna, Travis, Katherine, and Lillia and the newest member of his family his great grand daughter Kalliopi.
His memory is further cherished by his two sisters in law Elefteria Karagiorgis of Winston Salem, and Theodora Skenteris of Greece, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
A heartfelt visitation will commence at 10AM
Followed by a funeral service at 11AM on Tuesday January 28th
at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
The service will be officiated by Father Minas Tsambounieris and Father Jonathan Resmini, and Deacon George Politis.

Interment at Forsyth Memorial Park, with a Makaria following in the Church Hall.
