It is with sadness, but with hope in the resurrection, that we inform you of the falling asleep of our 
sister in Christ, Maria Vlahos. May her Memory be eternal.

Maria Vlahos, 86 of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024, at The Oaks.
Mrs. Vlahos was born in Klausion, Greece in 1937 to John and Agapoula Hamberis and was the youngest of three girls. She was an active member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and also active at the Panagia Prousiotissa Greek Orthodox Monastery. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Athanasios and two sisters, Vasiliki Papaioannou and Ageliki Karatsikis. Survivors include her daughter, Dina Mastoras (Pete); two granddaughters, Eva Franze (Raphael) and Maria Finch (John) and a great granddaughter, Ellis Finch. Maria had a passion for gardening and tending to her beautiful flowers. She was known for sharing the fruits and vegetables she grew with family, friends, and neighbors.

A trisagion service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, July 22, 2024, with a funeral service to follow at 11:30 pm at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church
with Rev. Fr. Demetri Kangelaris and Rev, Fr. Constantine Shepherd officiating.
After the Makaria, burial will follow at the Panagia Prousiotissa Monastery Cemetery, Troy, NC.
Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Panagia Prousiotissa Monastery.
