It is with great sorrow, yet with hope in the Resurrection we inform you of the falling asleep of our beloved sister in Christ, Ms. Kathy Paloumbas

Mrs. Ekaterini "Kathy" Hondros Paloumbas, 99, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at her residence. She was born November 3, 1922, in Fidakia, Evrytania, Greece, the daughter of Demitri and Panagiota Giannopoulos Hondros. She moved to the United States in 1967 and was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, where she was a member of the Philoptochos. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dionisios Paloumbas. Survivors include her children, Jim Paloumbas (Maria) of Winston-Salem, George Paloumbas (Melissa) of Kernersville and Maria Leris (George) of Florence, SC; eight grandchildren, Kathy Koutsoupias (George), Dennis Paloumbas (Mary), Taylor Sgroi (Sam), Maria Shipman (Johnny), Dena Pistolis (George), Jimmy Leris, Dennis Leris and Chris Leris; eleven great grandchildren, Maria, Georgia, Maria, Christina, Demetri, Eiriana, Dionisia, Maria, Christian, Natalie and Chloe, and her brothers and sisters, Chris Hondros (Nikki), Soula Kontos (Gus), Bessie Stabolitis (John) and Voula Zourzoukis (Stefanos).  

A funeral service and trisagion service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 10, 2021, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. Dimitri Kangelaris and Rev. Fr. Constantine Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 435 Keating Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
